  13-02-2022

Cairo, February 13, 2022: Nahda University in Beni Suef (NUB), the first and largest private university in Upper Egypt, received yesterday the presidential approval to launch the two new faculties of Arts and Architecture in the new extension of NUB. The two faculties are part of the planned expansion over the new land area of around 110,000 sqm acquired by Taaleem in 2020 to host the University Hospital and 5 new faculties. The first phase of the expansion, which will include the University’s Hospital and the faculties of Arts and Architecture, is currently under construction and is planned to be operational by the next academic year, September 2022. With an approximate new intake quota of 200 students for each of Architecture and Arts, the two new faculties are expected to add 2,000 new seats to NUB’s capacity, reaching a total of 13,350 seats. The actual new intake quotas are subject to SCPU’s approval. Regarding the University Hospital, it is planned to have a capacity of 164 beds, allowing it to not only serve its educational purpose, but also include a commercial section that will bring the medical expertise of Egypt’s top professors closer to the residents of Upper Egypt. The second phase of the expansion will include three additional faculties and will be announced in due course.

Mohamed El Rashidi, Taaleem Managing Director commented:

“We are pleased to announce receiving the presidential decree for the faculties of Arts and Architecture. The two new faculties along with the University Hospital mark a very important milestone for NUB as it demonstrates its growth capabilities. In the current phase of Taaleem’s presence in the market, we plan to continue focusing on growth, whether through our operational assets or through developing or acquiring new assets. We believe that focusing on growth is our path to fulfill our vision to become the leading higher education player in Egypt.”
